Take your breath away...

Isn't it fabulous how one simple gesture can send your whole being into another state altogether? This very act quickens your heartbeat, dilates your pupils and raises your energy vibrations. What on earth am I talking about you ask?  I am describing the most delicious, beautiful and yummy thing that two people can do.  The dictionary defines it as "the act of pressing one's lips against the lips or other body parts of another". Yep, you guessed it; it's the power of a kiss. You know the one. It's "that" kiss... the one that takes your breath away and makes you forget where you are. It's that brief instant when lips touch and both spirits connect into one smooth flow of energy.  That my friends, is the one thing in this world that makes my knees weak...
Now I am definitely not talking about the face-covering, tongue-crazed wet kiss where you feel like you are in a Star Wars movie and you have been smothered by Jabba the Hutt.  Ewwww!! The kiss I am on about is the one where you completely lose yourself in the moment... the warm sensation of your partner's lips brushing against yours... the slow build up of energy as your heart beats faster... the complete surrender to the intensity of that feeling.  It literally leaves you breathless.  Hell, I would even give up chocolate for one of those kisses! :-)  I believe that when you kiss like that, you gently explore each other's energy/spirit and raise vibrations to a higher level.  I guess a little bit of bliss has its benefits!
Sure money and riches in large amounts can make you feel kinda blissful as well, but there is something quite magical about the human touch: it releases your spirit to mingle with others. Kind of like releasing your energy from its constrictive shell and letting it out to play.
Back to the basics, people!! Never forget that it's the simple things in life that are often the most exquisite. If you have experienced the sweet exchange of lips against lips even for a short moment, then and only then, have you truly lived the human experience...
Go ahead... let yourself go.

Strength... an inner quest to change the world

A wise friend of mine once told me that power is not about taking action or displaying brute force: inner strength often lies in the capability to be passive or silent in moments of chaos.  The ability to stand back and simply observe without reacting can have an immense impact and can create the most change around you.  Using inner strength means that you don't necessarily have to take any action at all.  It's all about perception and taking a stand by simply being.
Some perceive the martial artist to be a true picture of strength, agility and balance. Yet a true warrior knows that fighting is always the last resort; he trains for years so that he does not have to fight.  A hard idea to grasp isn't it? Actually it isn't... "Those who are skilled in combat do not become angered, those who are skilled at winning do not become afraid. Thus the wise win before the fight, while the ignorant fight to win" - Sensei Ueshiba.  When you break it down, it's all a state of mind.
I have met many people in my lifetime who consider themselves to be strong.  Yet only a very small percentage of these people managed to blow me away.  Calmness, self control and wisdom win me over hands down.  It takes an immense amount of true inner strength to walk away from a pointless battle and know when to back down.  That constitutes a strong individual.  It isn't always about winning or physical strength...it's about knowledge and balance.  "To win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the highest skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the highest skill."- Sun-Tsu
So what am I building up to, you ask? Well, it is my belief that we are able to change the state of the world with knowledge, patience, balance and a collective inner strength.  It is my personal quest to develop this state of being in all areas of my life. So I welcome anyone to try and take a quiet stand and make a difference...Wanna join my revolution?  :-)

Laugh so hard... that you forget the bad and focus on the good

So we are back again with my favourite subject in the whole universe...LAUGHTER!!! Yes I can admit it: laughter is my weakness.  Well it's actually the giggles that make me weak and smiling from ear to ear like a flaming idiot.  But that is beside the point.  So why, you may ask, does it feel so wonderful to laugh? Is it the fact that we raise our vibrations or is it because it's so uplifting to be around happy people. To be honest, I really don't mind because when I am having a challenging day, nothing helps to raise my energy more than having a good laugh.
I think this may be one of the only things in this world that I find addictive.  There are instances when even the giggle of a small child can set me off.  Most of the time however it's when my friend Rachel is talking to me in some strange foreign accent about absolute rubbish.  She's good like that! :-) We simply have to look at each other and burst out laughing.  You know what I mean... those instances when you laugh so hard you forget all the stressful issues in your life and focus on how alive you feel at that very second. These fabulous spurts of pure madness are essential to our well being and sanity.
These are the moments I etch into my heart and spirit; they are the memories I hold on to when things are running me down.  It's also very useful ammunition when it's time to mock your mates!   I know I have done my part to provide my friends with flashes of pure insanity to stock up on. I just hope they deleted those dodgy videos and pictures.... lol  (Note to self: check Rachel's phone for evidence of stupidity)
So smile like you are an absolute nutter and laugh whenever you have the opportunity to do so. I recommend it on a regular basis. Trust me... I know a thing or two about insanity :-)

Beauty in silence....

In a previous blog,  I rambled on about music and all of its wonderful benefits. This time I am going to entertain you with the subject of... silence.  You must be saying to yourself: I think this woman is completely off her trolley.  But no! I actually appreciate the silence once in a while.  It is powerful and filled with numerous possibilities to perceive and feel energy.  When you quiet your mind, you connect to to an inner peace and a magical place of well being.  Within this silence exists an opportunity to raise vibrations and let your other senses awaken.  As a blind person's hearing expands to compensate for their lack of sight, inner silence can help to develop and heighten your sixth sense.

Bruce Lee said: "Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water."  This man understood the principle of silence and flowing with the universe.  This state of Zen is one that can easily be tapped into by emptying your mind of all thoughts and worries.  Easier said than done right? Well, maybe at first.  However with practice, you can be tapping into Zen states before you know it! There is a spiritual awakening taking place on this planet, a call of the soul for that which has been missing or hidden from it, and causing us to pause and listen for the whisper. Take time to listen to the whisper, to feel the wind caress you, and know that you are not alone on the path. Trust, be still, and listen...

Laughter is the best medicine

Laughter... the sweet sound of happiness.  It has the power to heal and uplift spirits. With so much power to heal and renew, the ability to laugh easily and frequently is a tremendous resource for surmounting problems, enhancing your relationships, and supporting both physical and emotional health. It also has the power to make you look like a babbling fool when you get the giggles.  This seems to happen often to me when I get together with my best friend Rachel.  No matter what the subject or situation we always seem to find an amusing or comical aspect in record time.  This ability to amuse ourselves with little or no supervision is unsettling for some, but for others watching us... it's pure entertainment!
As an added bonus, laughter raises vibrations and energy levels.  It makes you smile, giggle, and even snort sometimes (in Rachel's case) :-) Humor and laughter strengthen your immune system, boost your energy, diminish pain, and protect you from the damaging effects of stress.  And the best part is that it does not cost a penny. (All the more reason to have a good chuckle at least once a day.)
Another positive aspect of laughing is that it can be infectious.  You know the type of laugh.... the one chuckle that makes you giggle uncontrollably even if you have no idea what is so funny.  Just watch a baby laughing and in no time you will be smiling from ear to ear.  It's catchy after all!
I am a firm believer in the law of attraction, thus, the energy you put out to the universe results in attraction of the same vibes back to you.  So imagine just how much fun your life could become if you dabbled with a bit of humour each day.  Hardships become less of a burden if approached in a positive and light hearted manner.  I'm not saying that having a giggle is the cure to all your problems, however it makes them much easier to deal with if you are in a positive frame of mind.
Smiling and laughing makes you feel good.  Even after the joke is done, the very feeling of happiness lingers.  It makes you all light and giddy.  Its a good thing, except when people look at you like you are nuts. Then again, that never stopped me before! :-)  So to all my fellow nutters: laugh like they are going to lock you up in the padded room my friend. Go on... do it!

Intuition.... is yours kicking in?

When exactly does intuition kick in and lead you down the right path one may ask?? I wonder sometimes if mine is on the right channel or not. You know, those days when you get that butterfly feeling in your belly that you should be elsewhere.  The one that instinctively urges you out of the fast lane seconds before a speeding car flies by.   Others call it divine intervention or angelic assistance.  Labels mean nothing to me because it all boils down to a sixth sense within us that makes us change direction instantly.  It's the force that begins as a flicker of energy and evolves into a certainty, a real knowing from within.  That my friends, is intuition at work.  Not always easy to decipher, but a heck of a lot of fun once you recognise it!!
Once you master that, you can use your intuition for numerous things.  To check whether you are on the right path, to ensure you are buying the right products for you or even for choosing a new mate.  I use it in everything I do.  You could almost refer to intuition as my sidekick. When meeting someone for the first time, I let my intuition guide me.  We all make split second judgments the first time we meet new people.  It's scientifically proven that we as humans decide whether or not we like a person within the first 3 seconds of seeing them.  Instead of simply relying on your eyes,  let your intuition kick in.
Not another one of her experiments you say.  I have been known to teach a thing or two about intuition in my time on this planet... so just work with me people!!!  :-) Moving on... the more you begin to use your sixth sense, the more adept you will be at relying on it.  After a while, you will start to go with your gut more often than you realise.  For one whole day, try using your intuition to make decisions.  Rule of thumb is always go with the first answer that comes to you. Don't second guess or analyze either.  Relax and calm your senses and have faith that the inner you can guide you along the right path.  Martial artists and athletes do it without a second thought.
In the words of the phenomenal Bruce Lee: "Do not be tense, just be ready, not thinking but not dreaming, not being set but being flexible. It is being "wholly" and quietly alive, aware and alert, ready for whatever may come."  That my friends is a bit of wisdom to lead you on your way...

Music...and fabulous vibing

Music is one of my passions... it makes me feel alive, vibing and connected. A single note or a lyric can send me back flashing to a past memory instantly.  And in that very moment a feeling emerges... ahhhh elation! I am 20, in a Montreal night club, dancing and feeling the music into my very core.  I feel alive and happy.  That's something that fascinates me: the powerful effect music has on people and cultures.  Music connects, excites, makes you feel emotions whether you want to or not.  It just happens... like that. Poof!!  Magic!
To be able to recreate a scenario in your head instantly by simply listening to a song is phenomenal.  I have been known to turn on my computer, choose a play list and turn the music way up.  The effect: myself dancing all around the house like I was 20 again and singing along like a diva with no care in the world.  A sight for sore eyes I must say, and also an amazing feeling.  My energy vibrations rise, my mood is lifted and the corners of my mouth curl upward to reveal a smile.  No wonder I am addicted!
It's one of the few things that I could not live without.  I know it's kind of a cheesy thing to say yet it's so true.  I cannot imagine our world without music.  What a quiet place it would be and not really somewhere I can picture myself living.  If that were the case I would hop on the next space shuttle out of this galaxy!  With this statement I digress, so on to a more positive note... '
Music has the power to make you feel sexy.  Yes I said the "s" word, so brace yourself! Picture a song that makes you want to sway and move your hips around.... go on.... do it.  Now think of how easy it is to sway provocatively when you hear the song.  Hmmmmmm careful people, things just might get interesting... or you may slip a disc swaying. It could go either way; depending on how long it's been since you last swayed. :-)
Oh, did you hear that? It's the sound of vibrations rising!!!

Sending good vibes

Good vibes....gotta love the sound of that! It makes you want to smile. But what exactly do good vibes consist of? It's a question I get asked time and time again.  Is it the intent that counts or do you need to physically send your vibes? I believe it's a bit of both. You need to send a pure intentions of love and healing to the recipient, then see them receiving it.  And that is a beginning of an exciting love affair with magic.  It can be the easiest thing to do.
Once you have mastered the intention part, visualise the energy floating from your heart to theirs.  It actually becomes a sort of surgery for me; as my energy sinks into theirs layer by layer. These good vibes help others to heal themselves with the knowledge that someone is thinking of their welfare and wishing them better.  If the mere thought of someone healing you is therapeutic, then its not too far off.  Mind over matter is a scientific fact that we CAN heal ourselves if we believe it.  Think of all the people with cancer who have willed themselves well again.  It does happen more often that we realise.
Think of how important hope and faith is when you have hit rock bottom.  It is the one thing that people cling to.  So why wait until then to send someone in need some good vibes?  They don't have to ask you for help, you simply send them out to the Universe and let the magic begin.   By asking the Universe to help a friend, a family member or even a complete stranger you are sending out positive vibes all around you. It costs you nothing but positive intention and effort.  Nothing more nothing less.  How phenomenal does it make you feel to know you have helped someone out today?

Feeling and moving energy... can you sense the magic?

A lot of people I know don't really "get" what I do for a living.  Some people believe I am a massage therapist, others think I am Reiki practitioner whereas the majority give me a blank stare when I say I am a holistic therapist.  What the heck is that, you may ask?  Well, I get my kicks out of playing with energy;  sensing it, moving it around and playing with it.  During a massage treatment, I feel tingling balls of energy moving around beneath my hands as they glide over skin.  Oh! wow your hands are  warming up, is usually the first thing my clients say during a session.  It's true that my hands get so hot that it feels like my insides are on fire but I get excited by the prospect of healing occurring at that very moment.
But nothing is better than doing a pregnancy massage...sigh.  For example, today was absolutely amazing: as my hands were gliding over a gorgeous round belly, the baby kept leaning up against my hands as they moved!! It felt so surreal to connect with a little human growing inside another woman's stomach. At that very moment, the power of touch was so blatantly evident to me:  it is healing, calming and exciting to connect with another person with the mere touch of a hand.
I LOVE MY JOB is all I can say right now.

Kids, monsters and other energy vampires

Don't panic... but there is something I need to share. A very frightful observation, but one I need to share nonetheless. Believe it or not, vampires DO exist!!  They are not the blood sucking, red eyed fiends we all believed existed but rather they are needy, annoying or stress-inducing creatures.  They are energy vampires.  You know the ones: they suck the energy out of you without you even noticing it's happening! Sometimes they may even disguise themselves as small children or teenagers. But beware, they are tricky. They look at you with puppy dog eyes, they smile (oh they are smooth) and before you know it, you are knee deep in it and wondering why every ounce of energy has disappeared from your body. You feel drained, exhausted and even moody... you have been attacked by "one of those" monsters.
This brings me to the need for protection.  I know it sounds strange, but there is a need for people to become aware of the vampires around them.  It could be your boss, your work colleague, your friends, your kids.  Heck, it could even be your spouse!  Doesn't mean that you cannot be around these people, however it is crucial to protect yourself as much as possible before socialising with these beings.  Firstly, before throwing yourself into the fire, try surrounding yourself with an invisible bubble filled with light and positive thoughts.  This is always a good way to begin. Secondly, notice your own energy when the so called vampires are close to you.  Do you feel like you want to step back or not listen to them?  That's because their energy levels are vibrating on lower vibrations, therfore it feels uncomfortable or awkward.  Instead of uplifting your vibes, they suck the life force from you right under your nose.  They always seem to need your help, your time, your opinion, your ideas, your energy, your car, your money... see where I am going with this? Just smile and nod. And listen to your body: is it tense, are the muscles in your neck and shoulders tightening up or are you getting a headache? Your body is the best guide to how you are reacting to outside influences.
However, there is one exception to this rule: young children and babies do not fall under the vampire category.  They are here to amuse and torture adults simultaneously.  They're just one of those creatures you love unconditionally even though they wake you at 3 am because of a bad dream or belly ache.  Surround these small beings with love, patience and light and may the force be with you when the vampires arrive :-)

Using energy to boost your mood

Ever have one of those days where no matter where you went or what you did something kept going wrong? We have all had one of those once or twice in a lifetime.  You know the kind... you get out of bed, stub your big toe, the hot water runs out in the shower, traffic jam on the way to work, grumpy work colleagues.  You get the picture.  Well, if you surrender to the grumpy vibes, then you will only attract more of the same. The reason for this is the law of attraction.  I know what you're thinking... I read The Secret, I know how to manifest things and a crappy day wasn't one of those things I desired.  Well perhaps it wasn't but if you surrender to the frustration, anger or bitterness, then you are aligning yourself and your energies with negative vibes. And as the Universe likes to humour us, as a result your day will continue to get worse as the hours go by if you get absorbed by the lower vibrations.
However, you have the power to change your reality and alter that day into a much better one. Easier said than done right? Well, maybe not as difficult as you may think.  You can raise your vibrations by simply accepting that your declining mood is a result of your vibrations/energy dropping. The solution you ask? Easy! Simply decide to to be unaffected by it all.  Change your mood, do something that makes you feel better.  By doing this you consciously raise energy levels and change the negative vibrations to lighter and better ones.
I saw this happen the other day when I was out with my best friend.  It was pouring rain, cold, damp and nasty weather. But we did not let it get to us. We made the most of our time together by laughing and joking around. As we walked into the Tesco's store, our chipper moods remained the same.  Giggling and laughing as usual, a group of people stared at us wondering if we were drunk or something. As we approached the checkout, the cashier could not help but smile at us.  Our energy was infectuous.  Her grim attitude changed in seconds after listening to us banter and joke.  As we walked away she smiled at us and wished us a great evening.  I think we made hers...
Perhaps it was the fact that we looked like a bunch of teenage idiots laughing and giggling and we made her laugh. However I believe that she felt our aura, bubble of positive energy that surrounded us and in turn was uplifted. Isn't energy fabulous!!

Energy and Healing... Does it really work?

Sensing energy may sound strange to some, but for myself, it's a very big part of everything I do.  When a person walks into a room I try to sense their mood, their energy and even their personality by simply opening up my senses.  So why is it so far fetched to heal illness or chronic pain with love, light or pure intent?  We are all made up of vibrating molecules that emit an energy field or aura around us and we can actually feel it! So by tuning into those vibrations, we can alter our lives.
Yes... believe it or not, anyone can sense it.  Seeing it is an another matter all together but when your in a room with lots of people, experiement a little with your sixth sense. Go on...try it. Try visualising in your head that there is a bubble of shimmering light all around you. And as you walk by people they can feel it and are either attracted or repulsed by it.  Certain individuals you will automatically be drawn to if they are happy, smiling or light.  Others you may dislike for no apparent reason.
I have taught my girls at an early age how to sense those around them and it makes reading people and situations so much easier. I don't think it's a coincidence that they are surrounded by good friends that make them laugh and smile. The energy in the house is light and cheerful when they are here. Laughter vibrations are high, as are moods. Its a nice time for people to raise their vibrations and feel how light and free they can be by simply tuning into surrounding energy.
By using this light energy, we can tap into it and even heal others. This energy/light/chi used in Reiki connects to the aura surrounding your body and you begin to feel warm and tingly.  I love that sensation.  It's the one thing that keeps me loving my job day after day.
So I invite you to try, just once and see just how energy is a big part of our lives by making that extra effort and try the experiment. It affects us, connects us and alters moods and makes your environment feel heavy or even frazzled.
Try it...go on and raise your vibrations...
